5 Ways To Stay Motivated This Summer

There’s a saying which you may be familiar with “suns out, guns out” – meaning that during the summer, it’s an excellent opportunity to show off your body!

When the suns out, most people either want to cover up because they don’t like their bodies. Or the other way round, they want to show off!

The summer is the best time of year to show off your physique, and a good body means you can walk around the beach confidently. Who doesn’t want this?

It’s super important to feel confident in your own skin, and one of the best ways to do this is to workout and take ownership of your health and fitness. To help you achieve this, we’ve written this article…

#1 Have A Vision

To stay motivated, you have to know EXACTLY what you’re aiming for! Do you have an ideal physique that you’d like to obtain? For me, it’s Steve Cook, the guys’ physique is incredible!

For you, maybe it’s Brad Pitt’s physique in the film Fight Club or Daniel Craig’s body in Casino Royal?

Whatever your dream body is, it’s essential to have a vision. Once you have your goal, you can then start to look at what you need to do. For example, if you’re ideal body means you need to add muscle, then it’s wise to focus on a strength training/hypertrophy program and eat more protein. If however, your perfect physique is lean and athletic, then you’ll need to go on a fat loss program and create a calorie deficit.

Once you know what you want to achieve, you can then create a plan of action to get you there! Start with a clear vision.

#2 Look The Part

One of the quickest ways to make yourself look/feel good is to wear the right gym apparel while training in the gym. There’s no better feeling than lifting some iron at the gym, and getting your muscles pumped up. You look great, and feel amazing, and wearing the right gym gear such as from fitness clothing brand Mass Aesthetics will give you a big confidence boost. The clothes you wear have a significant impact on how you train, and also how much better your physique looks in the gym.

#3 Hire A Personal Trainer

If you’re struggling for motivation or want an extra boost from an expert, then why not hire a personal trainer? A good personal trainer will help you get results much quicker than going alone.

For example, your coach will sit down with you, ask you about your goals, and the physique you want for summer and then reverse engineer back to where you are currently beginning.

Your personal trainer will create a step-by-step fitness plan, and make sure that you are performing each exercise correctly, contracting the right muscles, and continuously improving your performance in the gym. You will get much faster results with an expert guiding you along the way.

#4 Pump Some Iron

The best way to develop a lean and athletic physique, so that you can show it off during the summer is to ‘lift weights’. When weight training is done correctly, it will allow you to develop an aesthetically pleasing body that makes you look and feel fantastic, and turns heads! (other people will be looking at your body in admiration!).

There are lots of ways to do resistance training, for example, you can use barbells, dumbbells, perform bodyweight exercises, use machines, resistance bands, TRX, to name but a few.

Even if you’re new to weight training, if you train correctly, you’ll start to see results in four weeks or less – how’s that for some motivation to keep you going? Then in 3 months, you could look like a different person (in a good way!).

#5 Get Your Nutrition On Point

There’s a saying “you can’t out-train a bad diet” – which is spot on! You can’t stay motivated and have a good body if you’re eating junk food all of the time!

Instead, opt for foods that make you feel good and support your brain (key for motivation). Foods rich in protein such as chicken, turkey, steak, cod, tuna, and salmon are all great foods for a healthy body. You could also have supplements such as protein shakes and protein bars. Other foods to support healthy brain function and encourage good moods are foods rich in fat, things such as oily fish, organic butter, nuts, and eggs.

If you apply the above five tips, you are guaranteed to stay motivated this summer. You’ll be looking and feeling amazing, and all of your friends and family will be asking this question…

“What’s your secret?”

Good luck!
