How to Style Surfer Hair

surfer hair

Surfer hair is a classic tousled hairstyle that has been popular since the 1950s. Traditionally long and thick, surfer hair is naturally bleached due to prolonged exposure to the sun and saltwater. It is often styled in messy buns, Man buns, or with long, messy fringe.

Short to medium length hair

If you’re looking to sport a surfer hairstyle, you can opt for short to medium length hair. This low-maintenance cut is ideal for people who hate to groom their hair. Depending on your hair length, you can also choose to wear bangs or add some curling products.

A short haircut is very flattering and easy to manage. It’s also perfect for men with curly hair because it requires less product. A short undercut is also manageable. In addition, some afros fall into the category of surfer hairstyles. A medium-to-long super-curly afro is fit for the ocean and will complement your reflection glasses.

Man buns

The man bun is a very popular style among surfers and other men who love to keep their hair out of their face. It is effortless to do and is particularly useful for those with natural curls. You can use matte styling products to give your hair a windblown effect. This looks great with surfer-style hair and will complement your face shape and color.

The hair should be at least 6 inches long for a good man bun. You can go longer but it will be more difficult to tie.

Long messy fringe

If you want to stand out from the crowd, consider getting a messy fringe. This hairstyle is perfect for men who don’t shy away from trying something new. It requires a lot of styling time, but it works well with all hair types. When styling it, make sure to part it sideways so that it doesn’t fall into your eyes.

To achieve the messy look, make sure your hair is medium to long in length. You should also part your hair on the side to give it merman appeal. You can use a curling iron to create the look. If you have straight hair, you can also wear a surfer curtain. This will give your hair a bit of volume.

Fruit Micro Waxes

If you want to create windswept textured hairstyles, Fruit Micro Waxes can help you achieve just that! These new formulas provide flexible hold and non-flaking, matte finish. The result is hair that looks tousled, voluminous, and bouncy. Plus, they don’t leave behind any residue.

Protect your hair from the sea and sun

The sun and sea can cause damage to hair, especially if you are going to be spending a lot of time at the beach. To prevent this damage, you should protect your hair from the sun and the ocean by following a few basic tips. You should also avoid swimming, which strips your hair of its natural oils and can lead to split ends and breakage.

The most obvious way to protect your hair from the sun and sea is to cover it. A wide brimmed hat is an excellent way to shield your hair from harmful rays. Additionally, if you have coloured your hair, you should take extra precautions when exposed to the sun. Coloured hair can be damaged by the chemicals used in colouring. Some of these chemicals will fade or become more intense, which can ruin your hair’s look.

Tools for maintaining surfer hair

When surfing, you will want to protect your hair from the elements. This means using products that will shield your hair from the sun and saltwater. These products will also add volume and texture. You can also use salt spray to hold your style in place. Salt spray is available in most beauty supply stores, or you can make it at home by mixing one teaspoon of salt with a cup of water. You will want to let the spray dry naturally, or you can blow dry with a diffuser attachment to create a more polished look.

To blow dry your hair, you will want to use a round brush. You will also want to use a small curling iron for loose waves. Alternatively, you may prefer using your fingers for this look.
