Get Out and About

One of the toughest things to do when you are struggling with mental health is to leave the house, socialize, or stay on top of the normal tasks you are used to doing day today. It can be both a mental and physical pain to have to leave the house, but sometimes, if you can manage it, it can be good at breaking a cycle, even if only for a little while. Trying out new things can keep our minds expanding and learning, which can also create endorphins in the body and feelings of accomplishment.

It can be difficult to get going if you are already in a mindset that finds being active difficult, so even starting really small and taking a walk around your apartment can help get the body moving. The reason why exercise is so great for our brains is that it increases our heart rates and improves our brain oxygen levels. Not only does this then release important hormones that help regulate our mental well-being, but it also reduces the more difficult hormones that can make you feel stress and anxiety.
