When it comes to spices, salt and pepper are the go to guys. However, there are dozens of other spices out there that can provide a lot of health benefits to your body. Turmeric, oregano, rosemary, and cardamom are great options. Using the right spices can supply your body a lot of protein and fiber, which are both good when losing weight and building muscle mass.

The leaner the better

When working out your abs, you don’t need to shutoff red meat entirely. No need to deprive yourself of meat goodness. But if you are going to consume meat, it is advisable to consume the learner parts like chicken breast and flank steak. Stay away from chicken skin and the fatty parts of whatever meat you have on your fridge. And hey, when you’re preparing and cooking these lean cuts, use spices listed above. Other great protein sources are egg whites, plain Greek yogurt, and low fat milk.

Plant-based protein sources

Protein isn’t only present from animal meat. There are a lot of plant-based protein sources you can add on your diet. Peanuts and almonds, quinoa, chia seeds, tofu, broccoli, lentils, seitan, beans, spirulina, and buckwheat are all great protein sources that can help you tone muscles all over your body.

Eat fish

Fish high in protein and omega-3 fatty acids are great for abdominal toning. Salmon, trout, sardine, and tuna are all high in omega-3 fatty acids. Consuming them results to less belly fat and reduced appetite.

Avoid sugary drinks

If you can, then avoid sugary drinks entirely. Sugar is one of the top reasons why many people fail to define their abs or even weight loss. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sugar-sweetened beverages are associated with obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and kidney disease.

With sugary drinks out the window, you can now go crazy on weight loss drinks. Fat loss or weight loss is key to defining your six-pack. Top weight loss drinks are green tea, black tea, coffee, apple cider vinegar, and of course, the almighty water. These beverages aren’t only for your abs but they also for nutrition. These drinks are filled with all sorts of nutrients including anti-inflammatory compounds that can result to body pain.

Once you are able get a six-pack, then you now have to focus on maintaining muscle mass not just in your core but throughout your body. To maintain a sexy physique, stick to your workout plan and embrace all nutrition tips listed above.
