Nancy Wheeler is the girlfriend of Jonathan Byers and the sister of Mike Wheeler in the popular Netflix series, Stranger Things. She is played by Natalia Dyer and is a main character in the show.
Character arc
Nancy Wheeler is the oldest child of Ted and Karen Wheeler. She has a younger brother, Mike, and a younger sister, Holly. Nancy was a talented detective. Her relationship with her mother improved over time.
After the death of her best friend, Barbara, Nancy carried tremendous guilt. It was not easy for her to let go of her grief. Although she had found an outlet in Jonathan Byers, she still wore a heavy burden of guilt for her actions.
Nancy worked hard at the Hawkins Post. She tried to gain the respect of her co-workers. However, her determination to achieve this resulted in her making some bad decisions. One of these was her decision to lie to her mother about Barb’s trip to a party with Steve Harrington.

Although Nancy may not like to spend a lot of time with her peers, she has made the most of her opportunities. She is ambitious and works hard to achieve her goals. When she takes a role as a reporter for Hawkins Post, she makes an effort to gain respect from her co-workers.

Eventually, she meets up with her friend, Jonathan Hawkins, who is Will’s older brother. They arrange a meeting in the park. However, the meeting falls apart when Steve leaves the party. When Steve tries to cut them off, Nancy verbally berates him.
Relationship with Jonathan Byers
What’s the relationship between Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers been like? Whether they still have a thing or not is another story. But for the time being, they have been keeping it low key.
While they haven’t been in a serious relationship for the past three years, they do still keep in touch. In season one, they fought off Demogorgon together. And in season two, they made an effort to reunite.
They have a strong brotherly bond. They’re both soft-spoke introverts. Besides, their fathers shoved them into walls.
Jonathan’s last name means grove of rabbits. This means that the relationship between Jonathan and Nancy has been around for some time. Their romance has been slow to develop and has yet to reach the level of love that a normal couple might enjoy.
Demogorgon
The Demogorgon is a deadly predator. It is part of the hive mind of the Upside Down. They are powerful, bipedal, and can kill adult humans with ease. Their skin can withstand gunfire and spiked objects.
In Season 2 of Stranger Things, Nancy Wheeler discovers that her best friend, Barbara Holland, has been killed by a Demogorgon. She seeks justice for Barb. When she meets up with Jonathan, Nancy attempts to lure the monster back to Hawkins Middle School. However, she ends up alone with the creature, and it attacks her.
While the show is set in the summer of 1983, it’s not clear if all adults of the species possess these abilities. Some have a limited telekinetic ability.
A Demogorgon was also introduced in the Dead by Daylight game. It’s part of the Days of Growth Collection, which will feature three new outfits for some of the game’s characters.
