Sex drive? Ah, the elusive beast that can make or break your night.

If you’re feeling like it’s a bit off lately, your diet could be one of the reasons.  Certain foods and beverages can ruin your bedroom game. Yes, your favorite snacks and beverages may be killing your sex drive faster than a cold shower in the middle of winter.

This article will discuss top 5 foods and drinks that are known to kill your sex drive

So grab a snack (but not one from the list) and let’s get started!

Alcohol

Alcohol can be a real buzzkill in the bedroom. While a few drinks to get in the mood may seem like a good idea, chronic alcohol abuse can ruin your sex life. It has been shown to reduce libido, affect Leydig cells, and even cause impotence and infertility. Excessive drinking  can make it difficult to get or keep an erection, and let’s face it, having erectile dysfunction is the last thing you want when things are hot and heavy. But don’t worry, you don’t have to completely give up alcohol. To avoid unintended consequences, simply be mindful of your intake and limit your consumption.

Foods High In Saturated Fat

Those greasy fries and chips you enjoy so much? They might be the reason your libido is taking a nosedive. These foods contain trans fats which can interfere with your sexual drive and even cause abnormal sperm production. And if that wasn’t bad enough, it has saturated fats can also restrict blood flow to the genitals and increase your risk of heart disease. So, if you want to keep your sex life spicy while also keeping your heart healthy, avoid foods high in saturated fats such as butter, cheese, and fatty cuts of meat. Trust us, your partner will thank you later!

Consuming too much salt, according to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, can cause high blood pressure, which can kill your libido. Research also  suggests that a high salt diet may contribute to the development of erectile dysfunction. Cold cuts, chips, cured meats, pizza, poultry, soup, and sandwiches are some of the most common sources of high sodium. If you’re always indulging in these salty delights, you might just find yourself experiencing low sex drive issues.

Soda

If you’re a fan of soda, it’s time to rethink your beverage choices. Those bubbly cans might be refreshing, but they could also be destroying your sex life. Because the artificial sweeteners found in many sodas and soft drinks can disrupt your serotonin levels. And we all know that serotonin is the hormone that keeps our moods (and sex drives) high. So, if you drink colas on a regular basis, you might find yourself feeling a little less frisky than usual. Plus, with all of the sugar and calories in those drinks, you’re likely to gain weight, which can impact your sex drive even more.

Soy Products

Tofu, tempeh, soy milk, soy sauce, edamame, and textured soy protein are some common soy food products. These products are frequently used as a meat substitute in vegetarian and vegan diets, and they can be found in a variety of processed foods, such as energy bars, veggie burgers, and protein shakes.

While soy products may appear to be a healthy and meat-free alternative, men should be cautious of their effects on sex drive. Soy consumption has been linked to a decrease in testosterone levels, which are needed for libido. So, if you want to increase your sexual drive, you should avoid soy products. Don’t worry if you eat some soy by accident. It’s all about moderation, and a little soy won’t hurt.
