In today’s world, there are many men who choose to work in manual labor. While it’s hard work, it usually pays well and helps them take care of their families. The one big aspect of this kind of work is that it’s essential to have the right kind of clothing. If not, they can deal with some pretty negative situations. With that said, here are nine items that all working men should have in their closet!

Waterproof Work Boots

The first item that should be in every closet is a pair of waterproof work boots for men. Most manual labor involves working outside in various weather conditions. You don’t want to work in the rain or snow and end up having to walk around with wet feet all day. This can lead to blisters and could even destroy your boots over time, depending on how often they get thoroughly soaked.

High-Quality Work Gloves

Something that many working men complain of is blisters on their hands. A good pair of work gloves can help stop this from happening. Remember, don’t go for a cheap or flimsy pair because they can still cause you to have blisters, as well as falling apart before you even get your money’s worth.

Quality Sunglasses

Working outside means you’ll have to deal with the sunlight. In order to do a good job, you want to be able to have something that will shield any glares or brightness. It would also be a good idea to get sunglasses that can be secured to your head so they don’t slide off or fall into an area you can’t get them out of.

Sturdy Jeans

You also want to make sure you have a sturdy pair of jeans. Jeans that are not well made can easily fall apart or get holes. In addition, cheaper jeans are usually made from cheaper materials, which means they might cause you to have more chafing and rawness. Both of these things can hurt your work and make you have to keep buying new pairs. If you invest in a few sturdy and well-made pairs, then you shouldn’t have to worry about any of these problems.

Breathable Work Shirts

The last thing you want is to have a shirt that’s going to make you sweat really bad or make you unbearably hot. Using shirts that are made from breathable materials and materials that can wick away sweat will help keep you cool and focused.

Protective Hat

You want to get a protective hat that isn’t a hard hat. Not only will this help keep the sun from beating down on your head, but it can also help keep the sweat to a minimum. Keep in mind, if you wear a hard hat at work, don’t replace it with one that isn’t going to protect your head from heavy machinery or objects.

Comfortable Undergarments

It might not seem like much, but comfortable and breathable undergarments are also a closet essential. There’s nothing worse than trying to work and having to deal with your undergarments riding up or being made from materials that keep you soaked with sweat. Try to find something that is not only well-fitting but will also help wick away sweat.

Weather Resistant Belt

A well-made belt that’s weather resistant can help make your job a little bit easier. Manual work requires you to move around a lot and this can cause your pants to slip. You don’t want to focus on having to continuously pull your pants up while you’re trying to do your job. Having one of these belts will keep your pants up and be able to withstand whatever weather comes your way.

Good Quality Socks

Working with heavy boots can and probably will make your feet sweat. This can cause blisters and chafe. If you have good quality socks, you won’t have to worry about this because most of them are made from materials that will actually help wick the sweat away from your feet. You also want to make sure you have some good socks for colder weather so you don’t get frostbite or something similar on your feet and toes.

Not only will these items help you focus on your job, but they’ll also help you stay comfortable while doing it. Keep in mind, while it might be a little expensive to buy everything at once, it will end up saving you in the long run because you don’t have to constantly replace these items.
