We all know The Mountain is capable of lifting even the hardest of objects. After all, Hafthor Björnsson is the World’s third Strongest Man, having lost his number one place after winning for the first time in 2018. We also know he’s married to Kelsey Henson, a Canadian woman who, in contrast to her husband, is around pocket-sized. But don’t let Henson’s shorter stature fool you into thinking she isn’t capable on her own.
Kelsey Henson Holds Her Own
A new video posted to Bjornasson’s YouTube channel shows the towing of an idling Dodge Ram truck. (This team will not be riding in lightweight aluminum F-150s.) Henson takes her turn at the feat of strength near the end of the 20-minute video, which depicts a day in the life of the Björnsson-Hensons, where lifting weights and towing big rigs with your body surrounded by family and friends and small children on scooters is the standard. No less, after a leg day workout.
And, according to Men’s Health fitness director Ebenezer Samuel, C.S.C.S., she pulls it off pretty well. “In general, a truck pull does not have much ‘shape.’ It’s mostly that it’s insanely heavy “he declares “Your body returns to the most normal movement patterns for you when you move max weight for every lift. That’s a great form for people who have mastered good form at lighter weights and have trained out some payout patterns. But it’ll be bad shape execution for a lot of people.”
How Kelsey Henson Keeps Her Body in Shape
Henson also preserves admirable form in the pull, according to Samuel. One of the advantages of having a partner who is a world-class weight lifter. “She’s not rounding; her back remains flat when she does this.” The takeaway tip, however, is all about the hips: “Keep an eye on how she tries to drive and power her hips forward. That’s the glutes’ strength in reality.” The leg day workout was apparently just a warmup. The Mountain should be on the lookout, because if Kelsey Henson keeps it up, she may be able to outstretch him in terms of pound-for-pound strength.
Kelsey Henson is also active on Instagram. Recently, she shared her bicep training regimen.
She writes
“Bicep training 💪🏼. Dumbbells curls

~Increase weight and lower your reps to challenge yourself! 🙌🏻.
“DB Hammer curls-8 reps, 4 sets
